reiod: Dietary Environmental Impact Metrics from the Intake EIOD Framework

Calculates the dietary environmental impact metrics defined in Intake's Environmental Impacts of Foods methods paper: absolute threshold metrics against per capita planetary boundary shares, relative benchmark metrics against a fixed global reference distribution, and the two composite metrics that combine diet quality with environmental impact. Cut-offs are age- and sex-specific. The package does not contain the Environmental Impacts of Foods database itself; it applies the published metric cut-offs to impact values the user has already derived. Includes a data quality check suite covering variable type, plausibility, numerical precision and unit magnitude.

Troubleshooting: fixing a broken dataset
The data | Run the checks first | Fault 1 — biodiversity imported as text | Fault 2 — greenhouse gases in the wrong unit | Fault 3 — sex coded 0/1 with no labels | Fault 4 — water rounded to four significant digits | Fault 5 — arable land stored as an integer | Re-run the checks | Now compute the metrics | A reusable pattern | Error messages you may hit | What the checks do not do | The one you have to handle yourself: incomplete EIOF coverage
